Over a decade of dining – Lansdale’s West Main

LANSDALE – It’s a cornerstone of almost every small town. It’s a place to gather over a hot breakfast and a bottomless mug of coffee. In so many towns, Covid or not, it’s the local diner.

One such staple in the North Penn community that is locally owned and run is the West Main Diner. located on Main Street in Lansdale and currently open every Wednesday and Sunday from 7 am to 12 pm.

One obstacle a business must overcome in order to become well known in a community is the test of time. West Main Diner has thrived in our community for over a decade.

“We have been a business in the community since June 13th, 2007, so we have been here for a little over 13 years and we hope to be here for many more years to come,” West Main Diner owner, Wayne Sharp said.

During the time of Covid, West Main Diner has had to take a lot of precautions to make sure that they are able to stay open for business. Although these precautions provide several inconveniences, they are very important to implement. Along with precautions, West Main Diner has applied for some grants in order to keep finances at a good place.

“Precautions I have taken are that I have cut back on staff, limited our menus, cut back hours, and applied for grants,” Sharp said.

Some people may be a little skittish when it comes to eating out and this is understandable. However, West Main Diner ensures that as long as you follow all rules set in place by the CDC, then you will be safe in their business.

“Our diner is very safe to come to as long as everyone follows the protocols set in place by the state,” Sharp stated.

Although in the state of a pandemic, the Diner staff knows they need to keep focused and put their best foot forward each and every day. If they don’t the business and their jobs could fall right through their hands.

“We remember to take it just one day at a time. We have some good days and some bad days but if we slip up now we may just lose the entire business,” Sharp explained.

Since we are in the midst of the holiday season, the diner is offering gift certificates as a way to earn revenue right now and as a gift for a family member or friend.

“We offer gift certificates right now for anything from yourself to a gift for anyone else you know,” Sharp said.

West Main Diner is an overall great spot to head if you live in the North Penn community and you want some delicious breakfast options to start out your day.
