Meet the 2017 Homecoming King Candidates

TOWAMENCIN- Homecoming is one of the most exciting weeks in every high school across the nation, consisting of spirit days, pep rallies, and a crowning of the school’s Homecoming King and Queen. This Friday, North Penn will hold the opportunity for friends and family to come together and celebrate our school. The seniors have nominated fourteen students to be in the running for Homecoming King and Queen. Starting Thursday, October 5th, the whole school has the opportunity to vote. Meet our 2017 Homecoming King nominations! 

 

 

 

Siddarth Bellum

What activities are you involved in at North Penn?

Siddarth has been in Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) for three years, involved in Key Club for the past two years, and is the School Store Manager.

What does being in the homecoming court mean to you?

For him, being in the homecoming court is really exciting and he’s very happy. He appreciates and thankful for all the people who voted me into the court.

Interesting fact-

He speaks Telugu, a Dravidian language native to India, fluently.

 

Will Butler

What activities are you involved in at North Penn?

Will is involved in the Comic Book Club, Simulation Gaming Society, and the fall musical “1776.”

What does being in the homecoming court mean to you?

Being on homecoming court means A LOT to him, especially since the school is respectful to him being a King and not a ‘queen’ by default. It really makes him feel great and accepted at being recognized as a king. He just feels really great about it.

Interesting fact-

Will can hula-hoop indefinitely.

 

Andrew Dunigan

What activities are you involved in at North Penn?

He is a member of the swim team and the captain of the water polo team, president of the Political Activism Club and a participant in Mini-THON.

What does being in the homecoming court mean to you?

He is thankful for his fellow classmates for recognizing pride and school spirit in him and nominating him for this amazing court.

Interesting fact-

He is obsessed with all Philadelphia sports.

 

Leo Kawabata

What activities are you involved in at North Penn?

He’s involved in FBLA, Key Club, NHS, Spanish Honor Society, Link Crew, Salsa Club, and soccer.

What does being in the homecoming court mean to you?

He’s very glad to be on the court! He has always been to the homecoming games wondering who would be on the court his senior year. Leo never would have thought that he would make it.

Interesting fact-

He plays guitar as a hobby.


Steven Kendikian

 

What activities are you involved in at North Penn?

He is the Vice President of Thespian Troupe, Senior Secretary for Chorus, public relations coordinator for National Spanish Honors society, Link Crew commissioner, singer in the Men’s and Chamber Choirs, and participant in North Penn Theatre Productions.

What does being in the homecoming court mean to you?

Being on the homecoming court is really awesome. Ever since he found out homecoming was a thing, he wanted to make the court. Steven thinks the people who make it onto the court are those who really make a positive difference in other people’s lives, as well as their school surroundings, and knowing that he fits that description feels awesome!

Interesting fact-

He auditioned for Fox’s show “American Idol” at the age of 15!

 

Ryan Lare

What activities are you involved in at North Penn?

Fellowship for Christian Athletes and Football

What does being in the homecoming court mean to you?

It’s awesome and I’m thankful for everyone who voted for me.

I’ve played 7 different sports in my lifetime.

 

Owen Thomas

What activities are you involved in at North Penn?

He has been playing football at North Penn since his sophomore year.

 

What does being in the homecoming court mean to you?

It means a lot to him to be in a position like this. To even be nominated, let alone win, for an honor like this is a huge achievement and something for him to be proud of! He is thankful for all those who have voted for him!

 

Interesting fact-

He broke his nose when he was in first grade by his brother hitting him in the face with a baseball.
