2016 record: 13-7 (9-3 Continental Conference); 9th seed in District I playoffs; beat Wissahickon in first round 4-1; lost in second round 1-0 to Council Rock South
Key losses: Amber Blackshear (Lasalle), Seema Sajjan (John Hopkins), Brynne Schoppe (Albright), Tori Bickel (Salve Regina), Alli Dickinson (Eastern), Jenna Whitman (Misericordia)
Key returners: Mikayla Barrow (SR, forward), Lauryn Fahey (SR, midfield), Erica Kelly (SR, defense), Bri O’Donnell (SR, forward), Julia Scanlon (SR, midfield), Emily Crawford (JR, forward)
Look out for: Rachael Fisher (SR, defense), Anissa Gardizy (SR, GK), Kellie Pickford (SR, midfield), Morgan Rees (SR, midfield), Meghan Daniels (JR, defense), Madison Stotler (JR, forward), Kristin Varilla (JR, forward), Jillian Lampitoc (SO, forward/midfield), Megan Albert (FR, defense)
Strengths: Strengths include experience of forward line, depth, senior leadership, speed of play, work ethic, and team chemistry.
Weaknesses: How quickly the defense can gel since the backfield is new and filling in some key positions due to graduation.
Outlook: “We have a challenging start to our schedule playing top teams in the area and the conference is top notch, so it will be important to take it game by game, set goals, and prepare for each opponent. After finishing third in the Continental Conference and 9th in the District in 2016, the team is looking to be competitive in the league once again and has their eye on postseason play. This group of players is not only talented, but they work hard and are coachable.”
