TOWAMENCIN – In a classic case of people helping people, Montgomery’s Township’s recent solution for speeding on Grays Ln. has caught the attention of NPHS officials. The school, after some consulting with Montgomery Twp, has improved the high school parking lot in an effort to slow down those pesky high school drivers and eliminate the problems of people parking in the wrong spot.
The new pattern of lines and parking spaces mirrors the approach North Penn’s neighbors in Montgomery took, and the hope is for a safer, kinder, gentler parking lot.

“Kids drive fast. We know that,” one administrator remarked. “So, we had to find a way to slow things down out there, but you know, we are working on a tight budget this time of year, so the lines seem like the best solution.”
The project is really good on multiple levels, according to students and staff, as another big issue at the high school seems to be people parking in the wrong spot and not being able to stay with the lines. That line crossing in parking spaces can really cause havoc when thousands of cars convene in one lot.
“This is a very interesting solution,” North Penn High School student Paige Turner said. “Like, not gonna lie, literally, most kids are swerving so much while they drive and Snap their friends, that these lines are prolly exactly how they drive anyway.”
Several people have already contacted the school asking if this is “for real, for real,” and school officials have released this statement in response to the many inquires:
“Today, new lines were painted in the high school parking lot. These student-driver calming measures, and let’s face it, calming measures for the angry parents dropping their kids off at 7am for detention, were implemented after numerous complaints about the parking lot turning into a racetrack. It was discussed at length with our security team, and also the art department, and we think this is the most viable solution.”
