Netflix has been stepping up its game recently with live streams and new series, but one movie caught the attention of its viewers; Carry On. If you’re worried about wasting time on a movie you wouldn’t enjoy, I wouldn’t dwell on it.

Over the holiday season, my family and I watched the viral movie. In my opinion, it was worth the hour and fifty-nine minutes spent!

If you like a movie that makes you think, this is for you. If you like action movies, this is for you. If you like a light-hearted festive Christmas movie, maybe sit this one out.

Without giving away the ending, I will say that the movie takes place in LAX airport and centers around a TSA worker, Ethan Kopek, who expects a normal day at the metal detectors. Instead, a terrorist organization has an attack in the works and needs Ethan to get the job done.

Ethan is conflicted about how to handle the situation, as he is faced with deadly hurdles along the way. This, in my opinion, was a great way to get the audience captivated. The question, “What would I do?” circulates in your mind as you watch.

The only criticism I have of the movie is that I would have gone with a more “psychological thriller” route, rather than action. The action sequences were entertaining, though at points very unrealistic.

Yet, I was still on the edge of my couch while watching, and was shocked by plot-twists and reveals.

I would also warn those who are squeamish that there are some rather gruesome shots in the movie. I even cringed at the special effects in some scenes. So, I wouldn’t watch this around kids or those who have a queasy stomach.

In conclusion, I was thoroughly entertained and thrilled by the 2024 Netflix film. If you’re looking for a movie that isn’t too long but is entertaining and captivating, I would definitely recommend Carry On.
