A Novel Love Story by Ashley Poston was such an interesting read. It brought together a thrilling romance with a magical element that I haven’t seen in many real-life-based fiction novels.
The book follows Eileen Merriweather, an English professor, who was left at the altar by her ex-fiance. In grief over her failed relationship and her favorite author’s death, she flees for a much needed getaway. However, she gets caught in a massive storm while driving, and when the rain stops and the clouds subside, Eileen finds herself in her favorite book. No way to get out.
This book’s premise caught my attention immediately, and I was not disappointed. Especially when Eileen meets a man in her favorite book who isn’t a character that she knows, sparking chemistry between them.
The plot drew me into the book as well. I was never bored while reading, and I found myself totally engaged with all of the characters and story lines. In fact, the truth behind the mystery “character” that Eileen eventually falls in love with was captivating and surprising.
Ashley Poston is also one of my favorite romance authors. I love reading all of her books, and they almost never disappoint.
If you are looking for a book that will make you laugh and sympathize, then I definitely recommend A Novel Love Story.
I rated this book five stars.
