Heartless by Elsie Silver was a great book. It was the first country romance I have ever read, and if you know me, you know I am not much of a country gal. But this book made me wish I was.
One of my favorite tropes is the “single dad” trope. It can never fail to make me kick my feet and giggle. This book brought that and more.
The M.M.C (main male character), Cade Eaton, is the typical dark-haired, i-haven’t-smiled-in-years man. Only when he meets Willa, does that frosty exterior starts to melt.
This romance was all brought together by Cade’s adorable son. Willa develops such a strong bond with Cade’s son, and it made the book so much more enjoyable to read.
The setting was also beautiful. The second I opened the book, I was transported into the scenic Eaton farm.
Overall, I was not disappointed in this countryside romance. I wish I could turn back time and read it again.
I rated this book a five stars.
