Knights next quest: Bobby Dougherty
What schools did you apply to?
I applied to Penn State University, Susquehanna University, Pitt, and Widener University for Creative Writing. Then business, since I knew that should be important for my dream career as an author and have a publishing house one day. The end goal is to have my books published but also to help inspire people who want to do the same.
What school did you commit to and why?
I committed to Widener since I loved the academic life and the clubs that they had to offer. I really wanted to continue being involved with doing things that I care about deeply. That meant having this amazing school spirit, clubs that would help me continue to grow an impact on the LGBTQ+ community, and other things where I could branch out in the community.
What are your academic/career aspirations?
But most of all gain leadership roles while I’m at Widener since the School is hands-on with having us go after our dreams. Offering internships and other great opportunities for many individuals within the school.
What are you most excited for next year?
Next year I’m excited for all of the open opportunities out there that I can go after. Like making new friends, getting an internship, and working on leadership roles in the school.
What is your favorite North Penn memory?
But most of all I’m going to miss North Penn, seeing how much it really meant to me. The world was full of possibilities and I went after them. Not thinking I could do Homecoming and actually end up winning was just a dream come true with Molly.
