Board honors two teachers/alumni who passed away

February’s Action meeting took place at the Upper Gwynedd Township building. Students from Gwynedd Square came to show their pride for their school.

Dr. Bauer highlighted the importance of the High School’s spring musical “Frozen.” The Board recognized the honor for North Penn to be chosen as Pennsylvania’s school to be given the rights to the show.

Mr. Stephen Skrocki went over the rebate program and urged anyone who qualifies to use it to their advantage. Only one third of the community members eligible are using it.

All committee reports, Solicitors report, Superintendent report, and finance report were approved.

President of the board, Tina Stoll, honored two teachers who passed away recently in the North Penn community.

“On behalf of the board I’d like to publicly offer our condolences to the General Nash Elementary school staff and students for the loss of their 5th grade teacher Cathy Truesdale and to the Oak Park Elementary staff and students on the loss of their 5th grade teacher Mrs. Sharon Sobotkin…” Stoll stated.

In addition, Stoll thanked North Penn’s TER (Trauma Event Response) team for working very hard to help with this situation and other possibly traumatic experiences in the district. This team was created in 2021 to benefit community members.

Mrs. Juliane Ramic also wanted to highlight the Colors of Pride performance by AAAC and their wonderful performance at the highschool this past week.

“It was a tremendous event that was incredible. The production was thoughtful and meaningful…It’s generated really lovely conversations. The students and the community that came out in support, it was tremendous,” Ramic explained.

The next Action meeting will be in March. All meeting information is published on BoardDocs.
