It’s time to tis’ the season as Starbucks welcomes its new holiday drinks
As we welcome the colder weather, it is time to welcome the new Starbucks holiday drinks. I partook in the festivities by trying four of the drinks added to the menu, the Irish Cream Cold brew, the Caramel Brulée Latte, the Toasted White Mocha, and the Chestnut Praline Latte.
Drink: Irish Cream Cold Brew
Price: $4.45 (Grande size)
Review: It may seem unusual to want an iced drink in 30-degree weather, but this is one I would make an exception for. Like the majority of Starbucks’ coffee, it is very strong, but the sweetness of the Irish Cream balances it out. It is not a complex drink, but the simplicity makes it enjoyable. It was my personal favorite out of the four drinks and I would definitely recommend it if you are looking for a drink to get you in the holiday spirit, but do not enjoy hot drinks as much.
Drink: Caramel Brulée Latte
Price: $4.65 (Grande size)
Review: The Caramel Brulée Latte lived up to its definition: burnt cream. With a very light caramel taste, the drink had an overwhelming flavor of roasted creamer. It was still very sweet with not much coffee flavor at all. The name of the drink unfortunately does not line up with the expectation of a caramel taste, so if you are looking for that favorite taste, I would recommend adding another shot or two of caramel. I did not enjoy this drink due to the lack of caramel and the overwhelming taste of burnt creamer, but if you are someone who enjoys a Creme Brulée this is the drink for you.
Drink: Toasted White Chocolate Mocha
Price: $4.65 (Grande size)
Review: The drink reminding me most of the holiday season was the Toasted White Chocolate Mocha. With the combined flavors of the white chocolate and the milk foam, it almost tasted like a warm marshmallow. The added holiday sprinkles entwined with the whipped cream added the familiar holiday cookie taste getting me most excited for the holiday season. The drink is on the sweeter side with a light coffee taste making it the perfect drink for someone not in-love with the strength of coffee taste Starbucks usually offers. I would highly recommend this drink to anyone looking to get into the holiday season.
Drink: Chestnut Praline Latte
Price: $4.65 (Grande size)
Review: My favorite of the hot drinks added for this holiday season was the Chestnut Praline Latte. This drink was the closest to its name in taste. It tasted like praline that you would find at a local candy store but with the perfect mix of coffee added. It has a familiar taste for avid coffee drinkers, hazelnut. I would recommend this drink to anyone looking for a day-to-day coffee drink but still looking for a way to get into the holiday spirit.
Overall, my experience reviewing these drinks was a positive one. All of the drinks have a mix of flavors associated with familiar holiday flavors which should excite customers looking to enjoy these drinks. The holidays are almost here and the best way to celebrate is to indulge in a new holiday drink from Starbucks.
