A Unique Experience in different times – Tiger Schulmann’s Martial Arts

Colmar – From the outside, you see nothing more than a brick and mortar building, but upon entering, you are greeted with loud music, and people training in an atmosphere you’ve never quite felt before. The boisterous energy of the mat, sounding of punches and kicks. brings a new intrigue into your life. This is not an ordinary type of gym. This is Tiger Schulmman’s Martial Arts.

Coming up on 19 years of business in the community, Michael Marchand and his MMA gym, have made a very impact for all his students, keeping them happy. Offering both kickboxing and jiu jitsu, the school has been very successful in helping people achieve dreams like better fitness, increased confidence, and self-defense.

But that’s not to say they have not had to adjust to COVID-19.

“Several things have had to change. We transitioned to a completely non contact style of training. Re-wrote all curriculum so students could train in person or via Zoom. Restructured all program and payment options. Restructured the entire process for students in person training. Spent thousands of dollars on Zoom equipment, cleaning supplies, PPE, air purification systems and so many other things,” Marchand said.

All of the adapting has let the school stay open. Operating socially distanced, they now provide non-contact programs and classes for all. While it might be a bit frightening to join martial arts, Marchand encourages it more than ever. People have struggled a lot mentally and physically, and there are not many places that can offer solutions to both.

Even if the COVID-19 rates are alarming, Marchand ensures your safety.

“We have had no spread in our facility and have been able to stay open so our students have a place to train. Our program keeps everyone healthy mentally and physically, and that’s the best defense against this enemy. We will remain open and strong for our community,” Marchand said.

There are no signs of giving up from him and his staff. Everyday they come and teach their school, who they consider to be family. So many different people from different backgrounds train alongside each other. Students might be someone who is 6 years old or 60 years old. There is something to gain for anyone willing to start a new challenge. The environment will give familiarity and a sense of being at home.

Tiger Schulmann’s Martial Arts is a unique place and can help you out in more ways than just one. Head over there to see it for yourself. You’ll know it is different once you see it.
