Jane Peters: Homecoming Queen Candidate
What activities are you involved in at NP?
“I’m involved in Odyssey of the Mind, an acting and problem-solving competition. My team has gone to the Worlds competition three years in a row and last year we placed second in the world. I also am a French Club officer. I have so much fun organizing the meetings and learning more about France. I’m part of the EnAcT Club, where I get to learn about the environment and ways to protect the planet. Finally, I’m part of the History Club. It was created last year, shortly before school was moved online, but it’s a lot of fun.”
What does being on homecoming court mean to you?
“Being on the homecoming court means a lot to me because I never thought I’d get to a place where that’d even be a possibility. Throughout elementary school, I was always the quiet, shy kid, and I never knew how to speak up for myself. I didn’t have many friends until late middle school when I became more comfortable in my own skin. I’m proud because I was able to make so many amazing friends once I stopped letting insecurities hold me back. I feel very grateful to be on the court and for my friends’, family’s, and teacher’s support.”
What is an interesting fact about you?
“An interesting fact about me is that I love traveling and I’m supposed to visit London and Paris this summer.”
