NPHS Senior Sophia Hughes

Senior Spotlight: Sophia Hughes

Future plans: My future plans are to attend MCCC and eventually further my education at a university to pursue a degree in communications.

Favorite NPHS memory: My favorite NPHS memory has to be directing the mock convention. This year has been a year of growth from directing football games, morning shows, and then the mock convention. Although 8 hours seems like a lifetime in tv world, the crew and I pushed through it and I’m so proud of the turnout!

Favorite classes: One of my favorite classes was broadcast journalism 1 and 2. The classes allowed me to grow and figure out the career I’d like to pursue. I loved the classroom environment Mr. Berger created and getting to be so creative with different pieces.

Favorite teacher: It’s almost impossible just to pick one favorite teacher but I would have to say mine is Mr. Gillmer. He has taught me to never doubt myself and always reach for my goals. Mr. Gillmer is one of the most supportive teachers I have ever met!

Advice to upcoming sophomores: My advice to upcoming sophomores is to get involved, make memories, and don’t think twice. During my career at NPHS I created life long friendships through clubs and activities and memories I’ll never forget.

To the Class of 2021, I leave… the microwave in the NPTV room.
