KC Senior Spotlight: Abbie Puketza

What college are you attending next year?

Florida State University

What is your major?

Elementary Education

How did you decide on your major?

I have always loved teaching children, and after doing Career Study at Walton Farm Elementary School, I knew that I wanted to teach for the rest of my life.

What is the job you hope to have after college?

An Elementary School teacher teaching upper-elementary grades.

What were you involved with throughout high school?

I was not as involved with school clubs or programs because I was very involved in outside things. I spent all four years of high school volunteering in my community, leading in my teen ministry at my church, working as a tutor, and traveling to do service work.

What would you like to say to all the clubs and activities you have been involved in?

Serving the community is so important and has taught me so many valuable life lessons and taught me what is important in life. It has also been so amazing working in the youth ministry at my church and I am going to miss my teens so much.

What would you like to say to NPHS and NPSD now that we will no longer be returning to finish the year?

Thank you so much for helping to prepare me for the future and helping me grow into the student I am today.

What piece of advice would you give to underclassmen?

Do not stress about college because everyone gets in, it is a waste of time and energy worrying about every single quiz and essay and test. Enjoy your high school years; being in quarantine and looking back I wish I did more and not just tell myself “senior year I will have fun” because it ended too soon.
