Sophomore Benjamin Curlee scored big when he achieved a perfect score on the AP Computer Science Principles Exam.

TOWAMENCIN- North Penn High School sophomore Benjamin Curlee is one of six students in the world to achieve a perfect score on the Advanced Placement (AP) Computer Science Principles Exam.

College Board explains AP Computer Science Principles as: “the fundamentals of computing, including problem solving, working with data, understanding the Internet, cybersecurity, and programming.”

As a 9th grader, Curlee came to the high school for the first two periods of his day to take Precalculus and AP Computer Science Principles.

After taking the AP Computer Science Principles exam in May, Curlee received his score of five when they were released in July. Last week, almost nine months later, he was surprised to be called down to his home office to hear the news that he got a perfect score. The school and his house received a letter on the same day sharing that Ben answered every question on the exam correctly.

“I was surprised, it’s been almost a year since I actually took the exam. I didn’t know that was something they even kept track of, but I was excited,” Ben remarked.

North Penn is proud of Ben for this extraordinary accomplishment.
