“Leaving North Penn is like leaving home,” said Mrs. Carol Harrison, a third generation North Penn student before she became a teacher here.
But along with the sadness of leaving, Harrison believes it the right time to retire and that she is ready and young enough to continue beginning new adventures. After retiring, Harrison hopes to tutor Spanish, to teach the elderly Spanish to prevent Alzheimer’s, to plan a trip to China, and to spend as much time as possible with her 3 grandchildren, one of whom was born just days ago.
Harrison views motherhood as the greatest achievement in her life. Even while attending North Penn, she loved working and teaching kids at the Fourth Street Pool in Lansdale. She also loves working with them every day in her Spanish three and ESL classes
“Kids are more fun than any other age group,” she said.
Harrison also loves movies and tries to see one every day. Some of her long time favorites include Silence of the Lambs, The Way We Were, and the Departed.
