PHILADELPHIA- On Saturday January 26th, hundreds of concertgoers turned a blind eye to the snow beneath their feet and the below-freezing temperature of the air to attend Radio 104.5’s free “Winter Jam” show held at the Piazza at Schmidts in Central Philadelphia.
From 12 P.M. to 5 P.M., attendees braved the inclement weather to see performances from five indie rock bands entirely free of charge. The show’s lineup included Matt & Kim, Tegan and Sara, June Divided, Twenty One Pilots, and Walk the Moon.
Just days before the concert, Matt & Kim’s drummer Kim Schifino slipped down the steps and was subsequently unable to perform live at Winter Jam. However, she still came to the show and the band played a special DJ set which still seemed to garner the night’s most positive reaction from the crowd.
After the conclusion of the performances, Radio 104.5 and Delaware Valley Mini Cooper hosted an after party at “The North Bowl” restaurant in the city. Attendees who brought a food donation for Philabundance were given a free copy of the new 104.5 Studio Session Volume 5 CD which includes tracks from Silversun Pickups, Mumford and Sons, Two Door Cinema Club, Florence + The Machine, and more.
Stayed tuned for more information on the Radio 104.5 free concert series throughout the year and summer!

I went to the winter jam, it was a nice way to get to see some of the up and coming bands that will soon be topping the charts.
