TOWAMENCIN – North Penn is no stranger to success, but the weekend of November 5 was an execptional example of sucess, for both sports teams and performance groups.
MARCHING KNIGHTS CAPTURE STATE CHAMPIONSHIP – the Marching Knights won the Group 4 USSBA Pennsylvania State Championship this past Saturday evening at West Chester. They edged out Nazareth by 0.013 points. Their score of 95.713 was the highest of all entries in all groups.
BOYS CROSS COUNTRY WINS TEAM STATE TITLE – The Knights raced to a first place tie with Cardinal O’Hara, both finishing with 132 pts, but a sixth place tiebreaker gave the Knights the edge and the team State Title. The Knights’ finishers were Jack Macauley (17th, 16:26), Dan Davis (30th, 16:39), Chris Trimble (35th, 16:51), Ryan Grace (78th, 17:11), Matt Molloy (82nd, 17:12), Hunter Hill (139th, 17:36) and Tyler Johnston (222nd, 18:17).
MCCGOVERN TAKES STATE TITLE IN GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY – Senior Meghan McGovern etched her name in North Penn history as she became the first girl in North Penn history to win an individual cross country state title, finishing the 3.1 mile course in 18:28. McGovern will attend William and Mary University next year.
