Any movie with Steve Carell on its cast list is guaranteed to make you laugh; who doesn’t love one of his classic jokes? This summer’s hit comedy film Crazy, Stupid Love, an amusing tale of common relationships and their troubles, will surely bring viewers lots of laughs. A wide range of audience from teens to diehard “Office” fans will enjoy this not-so romantic comedy filled with the perfect amount of joy and drama.
Cast members Ryan Gosling (The Notebook), Emma Stone (Easy A) and Julianne Moore (The Kids Are All Right) have great chemistry, unseen on the big screen for quite a while. Directed by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, and written by Dan Fogelman, this witty film follows the life of Cal Weaver (Carell), a recently separated father whose wife (Moore) just announced that she cheated on him and wants a divorce. He becomes a regular at a bar where he meets womanizer Jacob Palmer (Gosling), who decides to share some of his expert dating tips with the lonely bachelor. Countless love triangles, mysteries, surprises, and even scandals give this movie its creative title. Can you imagine finding out your parent dated your teacher? Awkward…
Admittedly this film should contain a few more cutesy quotes to be categorized as a romantic comedy, but the hilarious dialogue makes up for lacking sweet moments. In a total 140 minutes, the romantic moments are countable on a single hand.
Given four out of five stars, this comedy brought a smile to my face throughout the entire flick. All in all, it is definitely worth the watching. Crazy, Stupid Love releases on DVD on November 1, 2011.

The best part of the movie was when ever Ryan Gosling took his shirt off. Second best part is when Jessica’s dad tackles Cal. I couldn’t stop laughing.
