Although learning in the classroom is very valuable, there is nothing more fascinating and worthwhile than traveling out of the desk and experiencing education in a new, exciting approach. Examining esteemed art first hand in a museum is a beneficial experience for students to experience all that the world has to offer from beyond the familiar school classroom.
Northbridge art students cultivated an in-depth understanding of art on Thursday, April 18th, during their trip to the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
Visiting one of the largest art museums in the country, the students were able to observe the distinguished array of fascinating art work in the city of brotherly love, not too far from home.
The museum’s prestigious and interesting collection of international art was an important topic of interest for the group’s visit.
“I wanted my art students to experience the world class Philadelphia Museum of Art. The Students enjoyed the Chinese room, where there is a reconstruction of a meditation temple from Beijing, China. It had a carving and geometric designs, along with dragons and other mythical creatures,” said art teacher Marica Lucas
Lucas explains that “it was a fun day” for all students.
