Waking up early, carefully crafting each event, creating original merch, and organizing spirit days; dedication is just one way to describe North Penn’s class cabinet of 2025.
As the graduation of the class of 2025 approaches, the class cabinet continues to create amazing opportunities. But despite it all, students at North Penn lack to understand and recognize what they do and how much work goes into each day.
Every Tuesday morning, from 7:30 to 8am, this graduating classes’ cabinet can be found meeting in E116, discussing and brainstorming for upcoming events. It’s fair to say that this group is especially tight knit. They all get along very well; just from being in the room, their energy and passion is extremely palpable.
With this being his fourth graduating class that he has advised, health and physical education teacher Mr. Jonathan Fluck shares how collectively this group works really well together.
“I want to see them come to fruition and be able to do everything they want to do and make this senior year as amazing as they want it to be,” Fluck explained. “Every meeting we’re hearing new ideas from different people. Of all the graduating classes I’ve worked with, this group works well together, they bounce ideas off each other, and support one another. So, it’s been an honor to advise.”
They mix working hard with fun to create events and opportunities like the disney trip and specialized merch for the seniors of class of 2025.
A piece of advice from 3 year Vice President of class cabinet, Merryame Hameg, to future cabinet members:
“Incorporate class cab in meetings, in the actual cabinet, and also out. Promote stuff that we do in here because a lot of people don’t know what class cabinet is,” Hameg shared. “Always having school spirit and always being a leader no matter where you are, that’s the kind of advice I give.”
Between planning prom and winter ball, this group not only creates those opportunities but also gets to live those opportunities themselves.
“I really like organizing all the fun stuff we get to do; like last year’s prom and winter ball. It’s another leadership thing that is so much fun,” two year cabinet member Ellie Beck reflected.
Their hard work always pays off.
“Yeah, it was stressful the day of, building everything and stuff like that; but, everything turned out so amazing. The reward is amazing,” Beck reminisced.
While from the outside, students might just think it is just a fun school position, it’s also more than that. It is hours of collaborating and organizing outside of school hours to create a memorable experience for their fellow classmates.
“Have fun and stay organized,” 3 year cabinet member Ethan Kwon encouraged.
