What schools did you apply to?
I wanted to look mostly in-state because I like being close to home, and the cost is a lot less, so I only applied to Penn State and West Chester University.
Where do you commit to, and why?
I ended up choosing West Chester. After talking to my parents a lot and looking over everything, the cost is way less, and the program I’m going for (Accounting) not being significantly better enough at Penn State to the point where I´d pay that much more money. Many of my close friends are also going there, which makes it easy to find people from the get-go, and it’s so close to home that I can visit my parents and sister whenever I want.
What are your academic/career aspirations?
Although majoring in Accounting, I have career aspirations in the military/law enforcement field. Originally, I wanted to become a naval pilot after college, but I’d now like to go to the police academy instead and work my way up to S.W.A.T. and even the DEA, maybe. Criminal Justice isn’t the best major if my goals don’t work out, so I chose a degree that covers my second option and honestly helps in most fields nowadays anyway.”
What are you most excited about next year?
I think I’m most excited to have more individuality next year. Living on my own and having to take care of myself completely, I think I’ll learn a lot of valuable life skills this upcoming year. I’m gonna have fun living with my friends next year too, especially since it’ll be easier to see them. Some of my friends now go to different schools, and I don’t see them as often as I’d like to, so next year I’ll get a lot closer with those guys.
What is your favorite North Penn memory?
I remember back in elementary school, they used to have these book fairs, and there was a big bucket with gummy worms in it, and if you guessed the amount, you’d win a free book. In library class, I guessed it correctly, and my class picked me up and started cheering. that was one of my happiest childhood memories.
