North Penn Theatre presents A Midsummer Night’s Dream
TOWAMENCIN- North Penn High School Theatre is presenting their annual fall show in just two short weeks, so be sure to purchase your tickets for Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. The cast and crew have been diligently working since September, and are eager to take the stage for the North Penn Community.
“I love Shakespeare and I love opening up Shakespeare to our theatre company and to high school students who will come to see it. Shakespeare should be experienced the way it was meant to be: live actors on stage “suiting the word to the gesture and the gesture to the word” as Shakespeare has Hamlet instruct the Players in the play-within-the-play in Hamlet. A Midsummer Night’s Dream is one of the most accessible and fun plays in the Shakespearean canon. We’re having great fun with it and I’m sure audiences will, too. ” shared Director Andrea Roney.
Described as a “Romantic & Rollicking Comedy of Fools & Lovers, Fairies & Madmen, & Things that go Bump in the Night!”, A Midsummer Night’s Dream is sure to entertain anyone who comes to see it.
“It’s cheaper than a movie, and just as much fun! This is really a hilarious play that has something to tickle everyone’s funny bone. It still works 400+ years after it was written.” said Roney.
The first performance is the Gold and Silver 14th Card matinee on November at 1:00 PM. The shows are open to the public on November 15th, 16th, and 17th at 7:30 PM and November 18th at 2:00 PM. Students can pick up an order form from the reception office or print one from Mrs. Roney’s website. You can also order tickets from https://nptheater.ticketleap.com/midsummer/ or purchase at the door. Tickets are only $5 for students and $10 for adults, a low cost for an exceptional performance, and a great way to support North Penn.
