Meet the 2015 Mr. North Penn contestants
February 3, 2015
An annual tradition at North Penn High School is returning to the auditorium stage: on next Wednesday, February 18th, twelve of North Penn’s finest seniors will compete to win the coveted ‘Mr. North Penn Crown’. We made sure to ask them what they thought about the upcoming competition and how they feel they are going to win.
Mr. North Penn takes place Friday, February 6 at 7pm. Tickets are still available during lunch periods.
And now… the 2015 contestants:
Mike Raimo, Mr. January
Q – Why did you decide to be a part of Mr. North Penn?

Q – Why did you decide to be a part of Mr. North Penn?
A – To be honest, I never wanted to be part of Mr. North Penn since I am more comfortable with organizing and preparing the show backstage; however, as a NHS Cabinet Member, I was forced by Cabinet and, particularly, the advisors. No guy wanted to do it, and they all pointed their eyes at me. Eventually, they managed to convince me with phrases such as “It’s your Senior Year!” and “Yolo.” Technically, I was already a part of Mr. North Penn, but Cabinet offered me as tribute. #HungerGames
Q- What quality makes you the most worthy candidate for the crown?
A – My humor and kind nature
Q – Tell us something people don’t know about you that they should.
A – Back in 9th grade when I play the violin, my school orchestra played the first part of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. My seat was too close to my stand partner to the point our arms would always bump into each other. As we were playing the song, I moved myself to the left to give us both space; however, I felt a sudden shift of balance beneath my butt. I immediately stood up, and the chair went off the stage, tumbling down the chorus’s risers platforms. My friends in the orchestra all looked at me with confusion as they played. Awkwardly, I kneeled on the stage and continued to play. Eventually we got to the fermata break then my conductor turned to the audience and loudly spoke, “Ladies and Gentlemen, this is a fermata. A fermata is a grand pause in which the orchestra holds a note for a long time. Long enough for a certain student to go down and get his chair.” After hearing that, I immediately ran down the stage with my instrument, ran back up the stairs with the chair and then sat. the 9th grade class applauded with laughter. Although it was pretty funny to see, I actually could have fallen off the stage.
