TOWAMENCIN – North Penn High School’s Inter Club Council often comes up with creative ways to make the North Penn area a better place. The ICC Hoodie Drive further demonstrates their commitment to their community.
From March 19th until April 2nd, The ICC will collect gently worn hoodies to donate to those in need. The donations from this year will go to The Salvation Army. The Salvation Army could be hitting the jackpot as last year 300 sweatshirts were collected by the ICC.
“We hold this fundraiser at the end of winter due to the fact that the cold weather is coming to an end so it is the perfect time to give your winter attire to people in need” said SGA Vice President Katie Marino. This answers the question about why the ICC collects hoodies in the spring.
Despite being called the “Hoodie Drive”, the ICC will happily collect more than just hoodies. “Any type of Hoodie will be greatly appreciated, zipper or no zipper, hood or no hood, every sweatshirt counts” said Marino.
For North Penn Students, this event provides the perfect opportunity to donate something to someone who could really use it. The ICC’s donations to The Salvation Army will benefit many people in need.
“One sweatshirt from the back of your closet could keep someone in need warm all winter long” said Marino.
Sweatshirts can be donated in the bins located in K-pod reception, in the sports lobby, and outside the cafeteria
