WEST CONSHOHOCKEN- North Penn High school students’ art will be displayed at the annual PSEA Touch the Future Student Art Exhibition held at the MCGOPA SPP gallery in the Philadelphia Inquirer building, through February 26th.
Of the total 800 applicants from Bucks and Montgomery counties, only 250 students had their work admitted. The art was judged by Dr. Barbara Supplee, a graduate of the University of the Arts. Although no North Penn Students were award winners, it was a great experience for the students to check out the works of other schools’ students to inspire ideas for future projects.
“The gallery was well-prepared. Many talented artists got to show off their hidden talents to the art community” said Estefania Maldonaldo, a junior. Estefania’s mixed-media work was displayed in the gallery.
As an annual tradition in its 25th year, the Touch the future exhibit has donated proceeds to support the efforts of high school art curriculums. This year, PSEA divided over $1,700 to fourteen local high schools who had award-winning artists.
The gallery runs through February 26th and offers a great opportunity to view the art of fellow North Penn students, as well as the work of students from the surrounding area.
