Outside of Phys-Ed class at North Penn it is hard to find a group of friends to play mat-ball, dodge-ball or any other gym class game, but with G.A.S. night students can play the night away.
“G.A.S. night is games, activities, and sports night; it’s a night that the health and phys. ed. Department wanted to put together” Mr. John Fluck said.
The night is not about running you ragged like in phys-ed class, it is about getting kids involved and having fun. G.A.S. night is free admission and you can arrive and leave whenever you like.
There is an abundance of activities at G.A.S. night that will take you from the natatorium to the spinning room. “The pool will be open. We’re going to have splash competitions, tube ball, pool basketball, diving competitions, and in the gyms the yoga and spin rooms will be open, and two Xbox Just Dance systems. You name it it’s gonna be there” Fluck added.
There will also be a three point competition along with pickle ball, ping, pong and the climbing wall. And the cherry on top of G.A.S. night is it “culminating with a mat-ball and dodge-ball tournament”
If playing games after school isn’t enticing enough for you there is an added bonus to attending. “With G.A.S. night we’re allowing students to count this as one of their phys. ed. make-ups…even if you don’t need one yet you can bank it and use it at a later date so we hope to get as many kids out there as we can.” Fluck stated.
Also with G.A.S night comes an opportunity to help Manna on Main Street. It is not required but you are welcome to bring in a can of food to donate to the charity.
If playing games, giving to charity, and making up a gym class still isn’t enough for you, the chance to play dodge-ball with your teachers should be. Mano e Mano or Womano e Womano against Mr. Fluck or Mrs. Beach or any other teacher- who wouldn’t participate?!
Come out, donate food, wreck some teachers in dodge-ball, and have a good time. This Thursday from 7-10pm.

Thank you to all the students who got GAS last night! We would not have had such a successful evening if it were not for all the wonderful students who came out and were active. All of the Health and Phys. Ed. teachers had a great time and are already working on a possible sequel to GAS.
Thanks for the great article, Ray.

To Mrs. Gerhart– According to Mr. Clauss, pickle ball is like small scale tennis designed for elderly people who enjoy tennis and can no longer play the game full sized!
