TOWAMENCIN – Tuesday night, the North Penn High School National Honor Society held their induction ceremony in the auditorium for their new members.
Since the beginning of the school year, NHS induction co-chairs Amanda Schwartz, Grace Ahn and Maria Poccia, along with NHS advisors, Miss. Lauren Budweg and Miss. Michelle Machado, have been planning the event.
“The induction co-chairs put in a lot of time and effort to insure that each inductee was issued a certificate, NHS pin, and program,” explained Budweg.
Before induction began, Mikhail Khodak, Minzo Kim and Suyog Padagonkar entertained parents, administrators and NHS members as they walked in and waited for the ceremony to begin. After the inductees processed in, the four pillars of National Honor Society (character, scholarship, service, and leadership) were addressed in speeches given by Eileen Park, Tomás Giménez, Alison Wallach, and Vidya Punati. Following the ceremony, refreshments were enjoyed in the lobby by everyone in attendance.
“The ceremony went really well and it was nice to see all of our hard work paid off,” said Schwartz.
Next up for NHS will be their annual Butter Braid sale in November and Mr. North Penn in February.
