Providing an outline for creative minds, North Penn High School’s literary and art magazine, the Troubadour, releases a professional-looking publication towards of the end of each year of which the students and teachers who have had a hand in its production can feel proud.
Advisors Mrs. Page, Miss. Dugan, Mr. Alba, and Mr. Rauscher provide assistance to the predominately student-run magazine, which features pieces of literature, art, and photography of any genre, produced by both those who participate in the club itself, as well as from those who submit pieces for publication.
Last year’s Troubadour, themed “Colors” proved to be a success, and students of the club hope this year’s theme, “Obscurity,” will bring similar results.
“I’m expecting it to be a great culmination of the best of the school’s artwork and the best of the school’s writing. I’m really excited about the club this year,” Editor in Chief Matt Shaw said.
Meeting Mondays in room K043 at 3:00, Troubadour serves as an inviting place for those who wish to harness creativity, and feel true accomplishment upon seeing one’s name in print. All styles are welcomed, and encouraged in fact, as the goal of the Troubadour is to represent the range of talent here at North Penn.
“Troubadour is a really dynamic club, and I think just about everyone can contribute if they consider themselves an artist… really I think everyone has an artistic aspect to them,” says Matt Shaw.
Feeling the desire to express your inner artist? “Come to a meeting,” encourages Mrs. Page, and see what Troubadour is all about. Or, if you’d rather stick to just reading and appreciating art, make sure to keep an eye out for the sale of this year’s publication.
