It is that time of year again when the leaves start changing color, the football season is in full swing, and we are ready to crown a new King and Queen. The ceremony will take place on October 21st during the home game at halftime against Souderton. Last year on October 15th the crowds at Crawford Stadium anxiously waited in the freezing cold as Matthew Donovan and Brynne Gallagher became royalty for the night. Who will be the winners this year?
Voting begins on October 5th during English classes. Seniors will write the names of two male and two female students that they want to nominate. On October 13th during English classes as well, seniors will vote for two candidates who they want to be on the court out of the top 25. After this vote, members of the court will be finalized. The court consists of seven girls and seven guys. When homecoming day arrives, during first period all sophomores, juniors, and seniors will be given the chance to vote for who they want to rule.
“On October 19th we will be having a Homecoming assembly for the seniors but also televised for the underclassmen where the fourteen candidates on the court will be introduced to the school,” shares Dylan Eiger, SGA President. “Some changes this year are that we will be having a pep rally, and a pregame party before the actual homecoming game,” promises Grace Chong, SGA senior. This year is bound to be exciting. Bring some friends and have fun participating in this tradition. Maybe the crown could go to you.
