Though I believe most of us know how to celebrate, do you know what to bring to the Superbowl parade this Friday? As someone who went and had a great time in 2018, here’s everything that you need to bring.
Firstly, your Kelly/Midnight green
Of course, you have to wear your colors. This is a way for fellow fans to recognize you as you’re here for the parade and support the birds. I will be wearing my Kelly Green Jalen Hurts jersey with pride.
Masks – Dog or Luchador
Dog masks have been a part of Philadelphia celebrations ever since earning the title of “underdog” in 2018. So, if you have one, bring one. I am going to be bringing and wearing my Eagles luchador mask, which I have seen in many games and even Wrestlemania.
Train Tickets
Do not drive into the city! Although it may sound appealing due to the large number of people that will be taking SEPTA, people are taking the train for a reason. They’re also free tickets for the parade, so don’t worry about fees. We’ve all seen videos from Sunday and the last parade, Philadelphians like to burn cars. Don’t have your car be the next victim.
Portable charger
The cold and the amount of pictures you take will drain your phone battery very quickly. To prepare for this, you can bring a portable charger (but make sure that is fully charged as well).
Protective Gear
This is specifically meant for those who think they will or plan on climbing any structure at the parade. Be ready, because once you get up there, Philly fans will throw empty (or full – they go farther) beer cans at you. Be prepared for that.
Keeping all of these in mind, have fun at the parade, but stay safe. Be aware and stay with the people you went with. Go birds and keep an eye out for an Eagles luchador mask in the sea of green.
