LANSDALE – The Philadelphia Eagles dominated on the field of the New Orleans Superdome in Super Bowl LIX, and local residents were quick to celebrate.
With Lansdale Police blocking off the intersection of Main and Broad, in downtown Lansdale, people filed in the from the surrounding neighborhoods and townships to revel in sweet Super Bowl celebrations in the streets of Lansdale late Sunday night. Eagles cheers, the fight song, and a whole lot of positive energy and spirit warmed the chilly February night, and for at least a couple hours, Lansdale’s streets were very much alive.
Gathering at Main and Broad is a bit of tradition when Philadelphia teams win world championships. They gathered when the Phillies won the World Series in 1980 and again in 2008, and the gatherings again commenced for the Eagles Super Bowl victories in 2018 and last night. Lansdale Police kept things in order, and the steadily arriving crowd was all smiles and spirit into the night.
