TOWAMENCIN – Next to the girls’ locker room, behind locked doors, a long, dimly lit staircase is revealed. The walls, worn and dingy, add to the dusty atmosphere as you ascend toward an old wooden door. While the entrance might feel unsettling, what lies beyond is one of North Penn’s most unknown areas: the trophy graveyard. This hidden treasure preserves the memories and achievements of past North Penn students, with trophies and artifacts dating all the way back to the 1920s.

North Penn High School was founded in 1957, but before that there were 3 separate schools: North Wales High School, Lansdale High School, and Hatfield High School. When they all emerged together in 1957, a new history began.
Although the room might seem like a dull storage room, it holds one hundred years of past North Penn students’ memories and upstanding achievements. Not from just one or two sports, but from nearly every team that has represented North Penn.

“It is mind-blowing to see how well our teams have done, all of our teams, over the years,” Athletic Director Kyle Berger added.

The trophies aren’t just pieces of wood and metal, they are the representation of the hard work and countless hours poured in by past Knights. They are also a reminder to current North Penn students that their dedication today has the potential to leave a lasting legacy on the school in the future.

Over the years, North Penn trophies have withstood many challenges including high school transitions, building renovations, the Great Depression, and World Wars. Yet through it all, the trophies stand as a timeless symbol of the North Penn tradition of winning. At their core, the Knights are winners- always have been, and always will be.
