Sharpe, Stadnycki receive top bowling honors

TOWAMENCIN – It was a tough winter outdoors, but inside on the bowling lanes, North Penn was heating things up all season. Both teams led the American Conference of the Suburban One, the boys finishing with a record of 13-3-4 and the girls with a record of 17-2-1.
Now, after a season of winning and success, the accolades continue to honor their excellent season.
For his consistent individual dominance throughout the season, North Penn Bowler Tyler Sharpe was named All Area Bowler of the Year by the Times Herald. Only a sophomore, Tyler expects to continue to strive for his best and build upon this year.
“I have been bowling for five years and getting bowler of the year means a lot,” said Sharpe. “Now I have to go out and prove why I was bowler of the year.”
For Sharpe’s coach, Don Stadnycki, sees Tyler’s achievement as a stepping stone for the rest of his high school career.
“Tyler’s selection of bowler of the year is a great accomplishment because of the highly talented competition he has faced. As a sophomore it is quite a beginning to build upon for his remaining two years to further better himself.”
With the high levels of success that the girls team reached this season, Coach Stadnycki was named the Times Herald Girls’ Bowling Coach of the Year. Leading the Maidens to one of their best team records in his ten years with the North Penn Bowling Program, Stadnycki’s teaching and guidance were one of the driving forces behind a girl’s team that was very balanced in their scoring all season long, which were imperative in creating an atmosphere of respect and confidence.
“This past year was my tenth season. Ten years coaching the boys and nine years coaching both boys and girls team. Being recognized as coach of the year is very satisfying and makes all the extra time and relations spent all worthwhile,” said Stadnycki. “Respect is a very valued item which makes the athlete put forth their work and efforts in a group atmosphere to achieve their success. Team camaraderie along with the confidence to succeed goes a long way towards season goals and rewards.”
After a successful season, the accolades are well deserved for such a hardworking group, and are a sign of more to come in the future.
