Dancing with the Stars has been a traditional Tuesday night spectacle for households all across America, but all things become outdated at some point. Long-time judge, Carrie-Ann Inaba, has recently received heat on the internet for her confusing scoring this past season. So, what’s next for the show?
Firstly, the feedback regarding the scoring and judges of this season cannot be ignored.
Unlike previous seasons of Dancing With The Stars, one judge gave unusually high scores on the first night of the competition, Carrie-Ann Inaba. This bizarre behavior confused Inaba’s fellow judges as they scored lower and more realistically. The high scores left little room for improvement and the inability to get good criticism from Inaba, which led her to find herself in a sticky situation later in the season.
Inaba’s scoring and criticism for the contestants were confusing and wavering. Inaba’s feedback would vary based on who was in front of the judge’s table, causing the internet to question her judgement.
As a result of her previous high scores, Inaba was forced to continue to present the same scores to contestants who were obviously improving every week.
After social media started to notice this, Inaba got more and more heat and pressure put on her. This led to her being overly enthusiastic when giving advice and reviewing contestants’ dances.
So, what is the solution to the problem?
Personally, I believe Inaba should take a break from judging for a season or two. There are more than a plentiful amount of professional dancers who are qualified to keep her chair warm as she regains her touch for judging.
As the show continues to expand in popularity, the program should get rid of the only thing keeping it from entertaining viewers around the world. Whether it is temporary or permanent, I believe that Carrie-Ann Inaba needs the opportunity to regain her sense of dancing and judging by taking a break from Dancing With The Stars.
