1987 – Singing the songs of North Penn, The North Penn Chorus carries their music to concerts at school, and throughout the community. The over 200 students, composed by director David Giersch, competed in competitions, performed for their community, and learned new ways to compose their voices and the group as a whole.

The Chorus of 1987, had yet another great year. They sang at many concerts in and out of the community, bringing the community together once again, to listen to their concerts composed of many different music styles, and solos. The 200 students performed at the annual Trinity Lutheran Thanksgiving program. The Chorus also performed at the Memorial Service in Lansdale again, as they did the few years before. Some members of the group, known as the concert choir, went to Virginia to compete, and they placed second in Fiesta-val competition. Two of the members, Madrigals and Ambassadors, took home the gold in their individual divisions for North Penn.

Today, much like 1987, the chorus still performs at the Memorial Service, as well as perform for the school and the community, showing their talents to the North Penn community. Chorus member Jessica Bockol tells about her experience with the North Penn Chorus,

“I really enjoy chorus! Even as a minor role I seem to make a big difference. I just love performing will everyone it’s such a fun environment to be in and the people are really nice. I love that we can put a smile on the faces of those who listen to us.”

Not only did the North Penn chorus put smiles on the faces of those who listened to them, but they put a smile on their own faces. Chorus gave students the opportunity to make friends and express themselves through different music. The North Penn Chorus is still in effect today making smiles on new faces, building bonds, and taking on the world of music as a family.
