On March 19th with the confirmation of the 2025 Commencement ceremony, North Penn High School also leaked information regarding this year’s valedictorian. Except it’s not a student…
This year more than ever, Chat GPT has become students’ go to online assistant for all assignments. From test answers to homework help, Chat GPT is the common denominator for every student’s good grades and administration felt it needed some recognition for its outstanding work.
“We just got tired of turning a blind eye to the cheating, and decided to recognize the true hero for the class of 2025,” a North Penn Administrator stated. “It’s been obvious for years that this was bound to happen, but we wanted to give credit where credit is due so we have decided to name Chat GPT this year’s valedictorian.”
Not only that, but the speech at graduation will also be written and delivered by Chat GPT. Since it has passed as human a number of times throughout the years in writing pieces, administrators agreed that it was only right that it not only got the award but also got its time in the spotlight.
Since the news came out, parents have been up in arms about the decision.
“My student has worked insanely hard and completed all their work without the use of a stupid robot like Chat GPT so it is a complete disservice to their hard work to hand it off to a computer, especially when it isn’t even accurate most of the time,” one parent stated.
“I feel like this is more of a reflection on the school than the students,” another parent added. “If it’s available, I don’t see why using it is such an issue. Teachers should be happy they are using their resources.”
Tune in on June 17th to see the trend setting change coming to North Penn’s Commencement this year and the guest appearance by the one and only Chat GPT.
