North Penn School District holding annual Knight of the Arts
LANSDALE – North Penn School District will be holding the Knight of the Arts on Wednesday, May 24 and Thursday, May 25 from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm at North Penn High School. Knight of the Arts is a K-12 art show featuring a multitude of media, including drawing, painting, digital photography, sculpture, computer animation, graphic design, and more.
Students will demonstrate their artistic skills live, such as drawing, painting, carving, throwing on the potter’s wheel, digital demonstrations, and more throughout the show. Additionally, the high school Fashion Show will display many creative designs from the Family Consumer Sciences (FCS) department, and musical performances from several schools will perform to delight your auditory and visual senses. The show will also offer interactive activities, including face painting, portrait drawing, and a photo booth.
The Knight of the Arts also includes Senior/AP Walls, which feature artworks created by seniors and AP Studio Art students, who have taken three or more art classes during their time at North Penn High School, to honor their dedication to the visual arts. These students, along with their family and friends, will be honored at a reception on May 24 from 6:00 to 6:30 pm in the art pod of North Penn High School.
Donations to benefit the Senior Art Scholarship are welcome and appreciated. The scholarship is awarded to several seniors who will be pursuing art in college. Donations will be gladly accepted during the Art Show. T-shirts with a student-designed art show logo will be available for purchase. All proceeds from these sales and the event will benefit the art scholarship.
The public is invited to join students for the Knight of the Arts on May 24 and 25 from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm at North Penn High School, 1340 Valley Forge Road, Lansdale PA. For more information, please visit the NPHS Art Website.
