School Board Update; Committee reports, hybrid survey results

Here’s a brief rundown of the October 15 action meeting.

The North Penn School Board met on October 15 for their monthly action meeting; each Committee read out their report, and Dr. Dietrich gave details on the return to school survey.

North Penn High School Assistant Principal Dr. Sara Rattigan presented the Board with the 2020 National Merit Scholarship commended students (read more here) and Semifinalists.

Committee Reports

Finance

-Bond advisor Scott Shearer gave a presentation on 2016 bond refinancing

-update given on 2019-20 audit

-Board approved (7-0, 2 members were absent) transfer of $2 million of unspent money from the 2019-20 budget into the Capital Reserve Fund 

 

Safe Schools

Facilities and Operations 

-Crawford Stadium and Knapp renovation project change orders approved 

-update on the district’s stockipile of cleaning supplies

 

Superintendent’s Report

-results of return to school survey shared

-28% fully virtual, 68% hybrid, 4% special education (38% of students in the building on any given day)

 

Treasurer’s Report

-CFO Steve Skrocki shared that School Nutrition Services has served 553,642 (and counting) free meals 

-USDA extended the free meal program from January 1, 2021 until June 2021
