School Board approves 2018 bond issue and other agenda items
LANSDALE- The North Penn School District Board of School Directors had an action meeting Thursday evening where all items under the Superintendent’s Report were approved, including a 2018 bond resolution for the upcoming project at Knapp Elementary School.
After watching a North Penn news update, the Board heard from one audience member regarding property taxes and heard each of the committee reports except for the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit which did not have a report for this month.
Moving along to the Superintendent’s Report, the Board heard a brief presentation from Wes Hall and Rhonda Lord from the PFM about the 2018 bond issue before approving it. A full presentation of the bond issue is accessible through BoardDocs for the community to view. The Board approved all other items under the Superintendent’s Report including the first reading of professional services policy, settlement agreements, change orders, gifts to district, contracts, student travel, extra duty proposed changes, personnel, the 2017-2018 capital reserve fund transfer, and alternative placements.
The Board heard updates from Mr. Stephen Skrocki regarding the district’s finances and approved the treasurer’s report and ratifications. Before adjourning, Board Director Mr. Ed Diasio thanked the staff at Nash Elementary School where he read to students.
The next North Penn School District Board of School Directors meeting was originally scheduled for November 13th as a work session meeting, however that meeting is replaced by the Community Forum at Pennbrook Middle School where the Board will discuss renovation plans and costs with the community. The Board will meet for an action meeting on November 15th at 7:30 PM in the Educational Services Center.
