Nova Wins National Title
Villanova is the greatest team in college basketball, and they proved that last Monday night when they effortlessly dominated the Michigan Wolverines with a final score of 79-62. Villanova captured their second national championship in just three years. Big East Sixth Man of the Year award winner, Donte DiVincenzo had an outstanding effort, scoring 31 points and getting 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks. DiVincenzo was also named the 2018 Final Four’s Most Outstanding Player. In addition, Coach Jay Wright won the John R. Wooden Legends of Coaching Award. The national title adds onto an impressive five-year run for the Wildcats. In that time, they’ve had two national championships, four Big East titles, 165 wins, three 1-seeds, and five top-two seeds. Hopefully they can keep it up.

YouTube Shooter

North Korea Willing to Discuss Denuclearization
North Korea directly confirmed to the White House that they are willing to hold talks about potential denuclearization. North Korea has now opened communications ahead of a potential summit between President Trump and Kim Jong Un next month. It was also stated that Trump accepted an offer made in March on Kim’s behalf by South Korean emissaries during a meeting at the White House. The message from Pyongyang shows the first reassurance that Kim is serious about meeting Trump, but U.S. officials cautioned that Pyongyang offered no details about its negotiating position and noted that North Korea has violated past agreements in the Bush administration when they were asked to freeze its nuclear weapons program in exchange for the lifting of international economic sanctions. Hopefully, this time is different.

Patrick Reed Wins Masters Tournament
After four days on the green, American Patrick Reed solidified the win in Augusta National, winning a generous $11 million. Reed finished with a 15 under and was closely followed by Ricky Fowler with a 14 under and Jordan Spieth with a 13 under. Ricky Fowler shot an excellent 67 on Sunday, whereas Spieth shot a superb 64 on Sunday, but sadly failed to finish when he bogeyed the 18th hole. Reed has never have a single top-10 finish in a major before August, but he did finish in a tie for second at the PGA Championship last year. Reed now finally has a major win to his name, and a beautiful new green jacket.
