History Made in Super Bowl LII

As all of southeast Pennsylvania knows, the Philadelphia Eagles dominated the New England Patriots last Sunday to solidify their first ever Super Bowl win in the franchises history. History was made in more than one way though. In the big game, there was the most combined total yards in any game in NFL history, regular season or playoffs: 1,151; most combined passing yards in a postseason game in NFL history: 874; most passing yards in a postseason game in NFL history: 505 (Tom Brady); most points by a Super Bowl loser: 33; and the fewest combined punts in a Super Bowl: 1. All in all, it was one of the most exciting and interesting games in recent memory.

Kim Jong-un Invites South Korean Leader to Summit Meeting

Infamous president of North Korea, Kim Jong-un, extended an invitation to South Korea leader, Moon Jae-in, to visit his country “at an early date” for a summit meeting. President Kim’s sister and official North Korean delegation to the Winter Olympics, Kim Yo-jong, relayed the invitation to Moon at the presidential Blue House in Seoul on Saturday. Mr. Moon said the two Koreans should “work together to create the environment to make it happen.”

John Mahoney of “Frasier” Passed Away

John Mahoney, actor from the famous 1990s-2000s sitcom “Frasier”, passed away Sunday in Chicago after a small but devastating illness. Some of his most famous works include the TV sitcom “Frasier”, as well as the movies Moonstruck and Say Anything. He was 77 years old.

Wynn Resorts CEO Steps Down

After yet another sexual misconduct allegation, Wynn Resorts and Casino CEO Steve Wynn stepped down on Tuesday. 76 year old Wynn denies all allegations and calls them “preposterous.” In a statement Tuesday, Wynn said that he decided to step down after “an avalanche of negative publicity.” Wynn also added “I have reached the conclusion I cannot continue to be effective in my current roles.” The board said Tuesday that it had appointed the president of Wynn Resorts, Matt Maddox, as the company’s new CEO.

SpaceX Launches Falcon Heavy

SpaceX’s Falcon Heavy launched on its maiden flight Tuesday. Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, became the owner of the world’s most powerful operational rocket in the world. The rocket launched off at Kennedy Space Center in Florida at Launch Pad 39A; that same launch pad hosted the Apollo and its space shuttle. After a little bit of a delay due to high speed winds, Falcon Heavy fired up all 27 of its engines and roared toward the sky at 3:45 pm EST. The launch was a success.
