NPHS Chamber Singers to make radio debut

The North Penn High School Chamber Singers will be featured on MoreFM 101.1 through the day Tuesday

TOWAMENCIN – Thanksgiving turkeys were still stocked full in grocery stores when 101.1 MoreFM started their annual holiday music tradition, pumping nothing but holiday tunes through the airwaves around mid November. And now, with the calendar on December, the melodious voices of the North Penn High School’s Chamber Singers will join that play list as part of the station’s Christmas Choir Competition.

On Tuesday, December 6, the NPHS Chamber Singers’ version of “The Christmas Song” will play throughout the day and listeners can weigh in by voting for North Penn at http://www.morefmphilly.com/christmaschoir/.

Anyone can vote any time from the early morning on Tuesday until 9PM, and people can vote multiple times.  If the Chamber Singers win, they can advance to the finals on Thursday, where they could win $5,000 and a performance at the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia with the Philly Pops.

“This is a competition that almost every high school in the entire Delaware Valley submits a recording for,” explained NPHS Chamber Singers director Matt Klenk. “We have submitted recordings in past years so we are thrilled to be one of the nine schools chosen as a semi-finalist.”

North Penn will be competing against Cherry Hill East High School and Ridley High School on the radio tomorrow, in addition to Council Rock North High School, Cherokee High School, Arts Academy at Benjamin Rush High School, Camden County Technical High School, Council Rock South High School, and Spring-Ford High School.  Enough votes on Tuesday will put NPHS in the finals on Thursday.
