Trick or Treat So Tots Can Eat- On Friday, October 14th, the Thespian Troupe of NPHS will kick off their canned food drive at the football game in Crawford Stadium. The event will commence during the school day on October 17th.

TOWAMENCIN- This Friday, October 14th, North Penn’s Thespian Troupe is kicking off the start of their annual Trick or Treat So Tots Can Eat canned food drive.

On Friday, October 14th, the thespian troupe will begin the fundraiser by collecting canned goods at the football game. Starting October 17th, each first period class will receive a paper bag for the items to be collected in. All canned goods collected will be donated to Manna on Main Street.

To excite students and staff about the friendly competition, the Thespian Troupe will weigh and announce the weight of each bag on October 18th, 21st, 25th, 27th, and 28th. The first place winner, which is the class with the heaviest bag of items, will win a bucket of candy for the entire class. The second place winner will win a bowl of candy, and the third place winner will win a bag of candy.

By making this event more like a competition, the Thespian Troupe aspires to entice more students to become involved. Though spirited competition is encouraged, the most important aspect of the event is who the drive benefits.

“This is such a good idea for a great cause. The food goes to folks in need in our community,” explained NPHS Theater director Andrea Roney.

The students of North Penn get a great experience to learn how to give back and appreciate what they have.

“This drive was a great way for me to get more involved in my community and give back; this experience is truly amazing,” said thespian troupe member Nina Raman.

The last day for the canned goods to be collected for the fundraiser is October 28th. Any questions regarding this food can be directed to Roney at [email protected], and the North Penn website can be referred to for more information.
