NPHS students thrive in annual AAUW contest

TOWAMENCIN -Seventeen North Penn High School students have been named winners In the American Association of University Women’s annual creative writing contest. Students from Souderton High School, Germantown Academy, and Lansdale Catholic High School, as well as North Penn, submitted 258 fiction entries and of those, 24 were deemed winners.

These students attended an awards ceremony on April 26 in which they heard a keynote address by Alan Drew, a published novelist and creative writing professor at Villanova University, They also
shared their original poetry or prose compositions with friends and family. North Penn High School English teacher Janet Kratz coordinates the writing contest for NP students.
