- Cyclone Winston: Damage bill reaches $650 million, Fiji government says
Cyclone Winston, the most powerful storm in the Southern Hemisphere, ripped through Fiji killing at least 28 people Saturday. The damage bill has reached $650 million in affect many homes being destroyed and thousands of people living in evacuation centers. The total number of evacuees stands at more than 45,000 who are living in 275 centers.
