2. Tearful Obama Outlines Steps to Curb Gun Deaths

3. People’s Choice Awards: Sharon Osbourne Kicks Crasher Off the Stage and 5 More Highlights
The People’s Choice Awards was held on Wednesday night and 65 awards were given out to the winners. Highlights from the night include a random show attendee running on stage to steal the microphone during “The Talk’s” acceptance speech for the favorite daytime TV hosting team award. Sharon Osbourne responded by kicking the intruder in his backside.

4. North Korea says it has conducted successful hydrogen bomb test
This week, North Korea claimed to have conducted their first hydrogen bomb test. North Korea alleges that it was successful, however other world countries are skeptical. If their claim is true, this would be the fourth time it has tested a nuclear weapon since 2006.

5. Sander’s wins 2016 Simulated Convention nomination in landslide vote
On Tuesday and Wednesday, our very own North Penn High School held a simulated convention where they debated political issues and nominated a President and Vice President. During the two-day convention, student attendees as a whole decided on Bernie Sanders as the President and NPHS teacher, Mr. Henry as the Vice President.
