Giants and Redskins and Eagles, oh my!
Following Monday night’s matchup between the New York Giants and Miami Dolphins, the Giants are now tied for first with the Washington Redskins and Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC East division. Eli Manning and Odell Beckham Jr. made for a dynamic duo as they beat the Dolphins 31-24. Manning had a career high 87-percent completion record going 27-for-31, passing for 337 yards, and throwing 4 touchdowns with no interceptions. Beckham Jr. on the other end made seven catches for 166 yards and scored the last two touchdowns, leading his team to victory. Despite watching Beckham Jr.’s amusing celebrations, this doesn’t look good for the Eagles as their 6-7 record is now shared amongst two other teams. They must bring their A-game to improve their record as they take on the Arizona Cardinals, at the Linc Sunday, December 20th at 8:30pm.

Controlling terrorism, last GOP debate of 2015
Terrorism, specifically the extremist group ISIS, was the hot topic of the fifth and final GOP presidential debate Tuesday night. Main battles were between Donald Trump, Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz as each expressed their plans and course of action to end terrorism in the United States if elected president. Trump is currently in the lead in the Republican Primary with 38% and Ted Cruz trailing behind with 13%. Lower polling candidates like Rand Paul, Chris Christie, and Jeb Bush attacked Trump and Cruz, who looked like best friends at the debate. Ben Carson on the other hand lost this one as he often bounced around the questions he was asked.

Mistrial declared in Freddie Gray case
A mistrial was declared in the case of Freddie Gray after William Porter’s trial faced a hung jury Wednesday afternoon. Last April, a 25-year old African-American man named Freddie Gray died after suffering spinal cord injuries while in police custody. Porter, one of six officers charged, was the first to stand trial. Freddie Gray’s death ignited numerous riots in Baltimore after it occurred. Many people believe that the police used excessive force against Gray because of his race. So far, the six officers, two of whom are black, maintain their innocence.

Best Buy to sell $1 iPhones
Best Buy is returning their “$1 iPhone” promotion this Friday, where customers can buy a 16GB iPhone 6s for $1. But, of course there’s a catch. Customers must sign up for a two year contract with Verizon or Sprint to get this cheap deal. They are also throwing in a $200 gift card to people who are trading in a working iPhone 5. Although the 64GB and 128GB options aren’t included in this offer, this seems to be a good deal as “the iPhone 6 is expected to be a hot seller this season.”
