1) Royals win World Series
Last Sunday night the Kansas City Royals (95-67) became World Series champions after defeating the New York Mets (90-72) 7-2 in game 5. Down 2-0 by the top of the ninth, the Royals quickly got their bats going and scored two runs to tie their northeastern opponents. Going into extra innings, they rallied five more runs by the twelfth inning to steal the title. This was a regal moment for Kansas City as this was their first World Series title since 1985. Along with popping bottles in the locker room, the Royals celebrated their victory back home with a parade on Tuesday afternoon.

3) Chipotle sued for E. coli outbreak
After closing forty-three of its Pacific Northwest restaurants, Chipotle Mexican Grill was sued on Monday by a customer who claimed to be sickened by E. coli after eating a burrito bowl. Washington and Oregon state health officials have linked thirty-nine cases of E. coli to several locations, further prompting the closures. No deaths have resulted from this but many have been hospitalized. Charmaine Denise Mode, the woman suing the Mexican food chain, ate at a Vancouver location on October 21st, 2015 and reported E. coli-like symptoms last Sunday. Local health officials then quickly linked her to the Chipotle outbreak. No further comments have been made on her lawsuit but Chipotle released this statement on Saturday to address the ongoing investigation:
“The safety and wellbeing of our customers is always our highest priority. After being notified by health department officials in the Seattle and Portland, Ore. areas that they were investigating approximately 20 cases of E. coli, including people who ate at six of our restaurants in those areas, we immediately closed all of our restaurants in the area out of an abundance of caution, even though the vast majority of these restaurants have no reported problems. We are working with health department officials to determine the cause of this issue. We offer our deepest sympathies to those who have been affected by this situation.”
In regards to other areas, Chipotle has made no plans to close locations in other states as there is no evidence of a link to other restaurants.

4) ISIS bomb suspected on Flight 9268
After the deadly crash of a Russian plane in Egypt, a U.S. intelligence analysis suspects that ISIS or its affiliates planted a bomb on the plane. Last Saturday, Metrojet Flight 9268 crashed in Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula after dismantling midair, killing all 224 of its passengers. U.S. officials are pointing fingers at the terrorist group, ISIS, after listening to an audio message from their Sinai branch that was posted on terror-related social media accounts on Wednesday. Many are not sure if ISIS is to blame considering they usually have no problem taking pride in their attacks and have not taken responsibility for this yet. Officials in Egypt and Russia believe there is no evidence to support these claims on ISIS.
