After all of the snow we’ve gotten in the past week, most people think it’s time for spring, but with all of the ice covering the remaining snow, it looks like the snow will continue to annoy people for quite some time-especially in the North Penn parking lots.
At this point, shoveling and plowing driveways and parking lots every other day is getting old. Once the parking lots are completely cleared and the snow melted, another storm hits and creates more work for everyone. Conditions can get dangerous and irritating, but at this point it seems that there is no escaping it.
“It’s ridiculous, I could barely see anything and almost got hit by buses four times just trying to get into school because of that huge snow pile. And then my entire parking spot was covered in ice- just my parking spot. I’m so done with all of this snow,” junior Shannon Drop remarked.
During the multiple snowstorms that have occurred, students have taken to social media to express their severe dislike of the snow and the entire winter season. However, there are some people, most likely a minority at this point, who still enjoy the snow and are living in paradise now that it just keeps coming.
“The only reason people hate the snow so much is because they don’t know how to be little again and go play in it. I love the snow because I still go sledding and build snowmen; I don’t just sit inside and complain about it,” Stephanie Pogas, junior, said.
However, sometimes spending the entire snow day inside is inevitable when teachers expect you to use the day off catching up on work or getting ahead, which admittedly would be a good idea, but most prefer to spend the day sleeping and watching Netflix. Sorry teachers.
Over the past month, the incredible amounts of snow that has fallen could make anyone absolutely sick of the snow. After this winter, a lot of people would probably be happy to never see snow again- we’ve seen enough to last a lifetime.
In the end, it looks like Mother Nature is conspiring against us. It seems that every week, there are more calls for snow, and this week seems to be no different. The weather has become the number one discussion topic, with everyone checking the weather- students hoping for enough snow to cause a two hour delay, teachers wanting a normal week for once, and everyone praying for no more days off.
As we prepare for another big storm tomorrow, it looks like we’re in for it all over again. Enjoy…
